About this Training

This training is geared toward educators who have already received some training and education on affirmative consent and want to deepen their understanding. This training is designed to increase educators’ comfort in navigating the more complicated aspects of consent conversations with young people. The format of this training will be a presentation strengthening definitions and vocabulary with time for group discussion and activities practicing analyzing and questioning skills with consent scenarios and instructional tools. This training is most relevant for secondary educators.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Explain and reflect on two approaches to consent education
  • Explain the types of consent boundaries young people navigate in relationships
  • Describe the nuances of consent and reality-based application with young people
  • Practice navigating consent scenarios with young people
